Hakela: The Last One chronicles the story of Lakota tribal member Calvin Spotted Elk, the great-great-grandson of the famed Lakota Chief Spotted Elk, erroneously know as “Big Foot,” who, along with over 300 members of his Minneconjou band were massacred at a place called Wounded Knee Creek in December, 1890.

This is the story of one Lakota man’s modern-day struggle to restore his family name, correct the historical record, fulfill his promise to his dying father, honor the memory of his brother, and take his rightful place as the last direct male blood descendant of the famed Lakota Chief Spotted Elk, aka, “Big Foot.”

"Sacred Island"
"Sacred Island" explores the historical, cultural, and political connection that Ojibwe people of the Great Lakes Region have to Madeline Island, the largest of the so-called "Apostle Islands" in Lake Superior. Winona LaDuke, pictured above, among other Ojibwe leaders, historians, and elders will be featured in this examination of a people's cultural and spiritual connection to "place" and the effects of dislocation from that spiritual center, while attempting to redefine that relationship in the 21st century on their own terms.

"The Gift" profiles the life and work of Adelina Alva- Padilla, the Spiritual Leader of the Santa Ynez Chumash Tribe, bringing viewers into Adelina’s world for a rare glimpse into the life and culture of this remarkable and cherished Chumash elder.
