In April, Turtle Island Productions worked with Producer Lee Olsen of Dick Crew Productions, L.A., for two days on a production for the Sci-Fi Channel's new show "Sci-Fi Entertainment" with Actress Chase Masterson of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" fame. In addition to providing audio and make-up crew members, T.I.P. owner and Director of Photography James Fortier shot the story segments with his Sony BVW-D600 camera.
Turtle Island Productions, working with Northern Lights Film and Video, recently provided complete production co-ordination and support for a Time-Life infomerccial for Producers Hawthorne-Direct. The infommercial is part of Time-Life's CD music series. In addition to providing studio space, set, and lighting with a three ton Grip truck, T.I.P. Director of Photography James Fortier shot the testimonials with his Sony BVW-D600. T.I.P. also assembled the audio, lighting, and make-up crew for the shoot.
In March, Turtle Island Productions owner and DP James Fortier shot for The Computer Chronicles, produced by Stewart Shaffet Productions and broadcast on KTEH and other PBS stations across the country.
In August, Turtle Island Productions provided camera and Director of Photography services for two shoots for "E -Entertainment TV" including a special on Mia Farrow, and a segment focusing on the San Franciso 49er Cheerleaders swimsuit calender shoot in Blackhawk.
In July, Turtle Island Productions provided complete camera, lighting and audio support services and Director of Photography services for six episodes of Knowledge TV's "Profiles In Technology" series for Producer Marc Doyle. T.I.P.
In June, Turtle Island Productions provided camera and DP services for The Model Show, Produced by the Entertainment Channel.
In May, Turtle Island Productions provided Director of Photography services for "Don't Be A Target" with Dennis Franz (NYPD Blue) for L.A. Director Rob Sharky at Golden Gate Studios in Corte Madera, CA. T.I.P. Director of Photography James Fortier also shot segments of the Sci-Fi Channel's tribute to special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen. The shoot, which included interviews at ILM in San Rafael, will be broadcast in May. Fortier also provided camera and lighting packages and services for two national broadcast VISA productions.
In March Turtle Island Productions Director of Photography Jim Fortier provided camera services for "The Internet Cafe", which is broadcast on KCSM, Public Television. This shoot took place at "The Webby Awards" an award banquet for top web site developers held at Bimbos Nightclub in San Francisco.
Also for "The Internet Cafe," Fortier shot two show segments at Cybersmith in Palo Alto, CA with show host Stewart Scheffiet. "The Internet Cafe" is now broadcast in San Francisco, Chicago, L.A., N.Y., and Philadelphia. The show recently announced expansion into 90 additional markets across the country. Also in March, Fortier was the Gaffer for a commecial shoot for Don Quxiote Productions.
Turtle Island Productions recently provided complete production support and crews for Jones Digital Century's (Knowledge TV) "Virtual Trade Show" at Mac World '97 and the "Future of Computing" convention in February at the San Jose Convention Center. Both productions included two ENG crews, and featured Sony BVW-D600 Camera Packages. "Knowledge TV", formerly the Jones Computer Network/MEU, is a cable channel owned by the Jones Cable Co. "Knowledge TV" reaches over 20 million households worldwide. The "Virtual Trade Show" program features high tech industry conventions, such as Mac World Expo, in a 30 minute program consisting of on the scene interviews, demos and various stand-up reports packaged and broadcast during or shortly after the convention.

recently shot a series of interviews and footage for several episodes of
"Profiles In Technology," for Independent Producer Marc Doyle.
"Profiles" is a 30 minute program series airing on "Knowledge
TV" since 1993 which features visionary leaders from all aspects of
the technology industry. Past show segments have included MIT's Nick Necroponte,
Netscape's Jim Clark, SGI's Ed McCracken, George Lucas, and Vice President
Al Gore to name a few. Recent "Profiles" shoots featured Point
Cast, Inc., Stanford Univesity, and Purple Moon, Inc.
