Welcome to the Website of Turtle Island Productions.
From creating "The Big Idea" to developing a workable production plan that brings it to life, Turtle Island Productions offers an imaginative stream of ideas together with seasoned skills in creating, writing, producing, and directing media communications.
TIP owner James M. Fortier brings over 17 years of production experience to every project. In addition to broadcast, cable, and corporate clients, Fortier, who is Métis (pronounced "May-Tee") of Ojibway and French Canadian heritage, specializes in documentary, dramatic, educational and informational video and web productions focusing on Native American and First Nations cultures, histories, stories, and contemporary issues. Dedicated to bringing Native American stories from a Native perspective to a wider audience, TIP has produced many award winning productions independently and in collaboration with Native filmmakers from the U.S. and Canada.
Please spend some time exploring our site for more details about past and current productions, our production services, work samples, including
